Fashion tips for top heavy woman

A bigger bust line may present a wardrobe challenge but shouldn't limit you to unstylish clothing. Use these tips and tricks to stay in style and within your budget while looking great!

Finding a wardrobe that balances comfort with tailoring, and is stylish, all without breaking the budget can be a challenge for any woman. Add a buxom bust line to the wardrobe and the challenge can be daunting. Try a few of these tips and tricks to keep the best in-style and in-budget look.

Old advice dictated, dress in black or dark solid colors to minimize any part of your body. Though this works, it’s rather extreme and restrictive. If blessed, or cursed, with a large bust line don’t dress in black everyday but do try to avoid wide necklines that make your top look wider, as well as high-waisted pants that exaggerate a full chest. Go for tailored looks rather than boxy. You might be bigger on top but that doesn’t mean you have to be big everywhere – show off your curves don’t hide in a tent.

Select tops with sweetheart or V-necks to lengthen the vertical line of the top portion of your body. Button down tops are more difficult to avoid the boxy look but purchase tops that fit your chest and have darts put in underneath the bust line so it will fit your waist. This is a very inexpensive tailoring job that many dry cleaners offer; it’s frequently less expensive than purchasing a tailored shirt and will have the same results. Avoid sleeves that end at the bust line as they just hold the eye at that level. Match tops with low-waisted pants to place attention on your hips and lengthen your entire body. Boot cut or flared pants will help balance your top and tie the ensemble together.

Suits, pants or skirts, look best if they are tailored. Boxy is just that, you’ll look like a box. Try a suit jacket that cinches in at the waist and doesn’t have a large lapel, it just adds weight to the top portion of your body. Select lighter textured fabric, no thick tweeds or nubby wools, as they add mass just hanging on the hanger. Remember a slight flare at the bottom of a skirt or pant outfit will balance the top with the bottom.

Dresses are your best friend. Any dress, especially those with V-necks can look flattering. Aim for a skirt hemline at or below your knee to slim and lengthen your look. Strapless dresses can play up your shoulders and neck, just be certain bust line support is built in or you’ll be pulling “up” all night. Accentuate your hips, waist, tan or legs with the style of your choice.

Don’t be afraid to break the rules. Never wear lightweight fabrics, large patterns, or pockets on your shirts – just toss those aside. Go ahead and layer a light fabric see-through or chiffon shirt over a form fitting camisole – add a large pattern to the chiffon and you’ll break two rules in one. Small patterns minimize and distract from the bust line and pockets, as long as they don’t shine or light up are perfectly acceptable.

Finally, try fabrics with Lycra that stretch as you move without popping buttons or bunching. Fabrics shouldn’t cling to your body but include enough weight to drape nicely. When trying clothing on, be certain to stretch, move, reach and bend – if it doesn’t work in the fitting room, it won’t work in the office.

Whatever body type you have, stout, long-legged, thin or just right, a large bust line requires creative shopping to reveal without overdoing. Though a night on the town may be the right moment to show off a low neckline, other venues are just not appropriate. But don’t sacrifice style for coverage. There’s no need to hide under tents or sweaters that cover your top but don’t add definition to your other curves. Use the above tips and you’ll receive ravishing reviews no matter where you go.

Fashion tips: dress rich on limited budget

Learn how to look wealthy on the most limited budget. Prioritize your wardrobe choices. Shop for the best value.

If you want to dress as if you’re a millionaire, it just got easier. Anybody from any economic background can look as if they have it all, by following the rich way of dressing. Learn how you can look the part on the most limited budget, how to prioritize your wardrobe choices and where to shop to make the most of your dollar.

Dressing Rich Doesn’t Mean Uptight

Just because you’re dressing rich doesn’t mean you have to be stuck up! Some of the wealthiest people on the planet are just out to have a good time and look great (think Cameron Diaz). Choose jewelry that spark interest and conversations. Choose beautiful fabrics when choosing clothes. Don’t forget the designer shoe and bag. And, most importantly find the most expensive clothing in the world on sale. For those of you who may not know, you can find a wealth of designer duds for half the price if you know where to look. Scour stores that sell high-end designer goods and get to know when they have their sales (F.Y.I. – many sales are in January and June), but check your local boutiques, department stores and outlets to see when you can score the designer goods on sale.

Be Groomed

The rich always look great. Their teeth are always white and their hair is always shining. Their bodies….do I really need to discuss how perfect they are! The moral of this story is take care of yourself, your body, your hair, your skin, nails and teeth and you are well on your way to looking the part.

Buy Classy, Not Trendy

You can never go wrong buying the classic brands in styles that will never go out of style. A classic trench, or a strand of pearls or a basic black designer bag will always be chic and you will get the most cost-per-wear out of a classic piece. If you weren’t sure, Cost-per-wear, a.k.a. cpw, is a fashion term that women often use to make clothing and accessory purchases legitimate to their spouses. However, it does make lots of sense. If you think about it, you would get a lot more use out of that handbag or trench coat you’ve been eyeing, than buying in bulk lots of cheap-yet-trendy tops from Forever 21.And, this is how to prioritize your wardrobe and accessories choices.

Save a Budget For Clothes and Accessories

Now that you know how to dress rich and what to buy, you must learn how to save. Everybody has a budget, even the most affluent people. But, if you learn how to weed out certain things in your budget that you may not need, you’ll have more money to dress how you please.

Take a good look at where your money is going. Do you have daily jaunts to Starbucks, for that Grande Mocha Frappuccino? How about excessive ordering in from your favorite Lebanese restaurant? Or that ever-convenient cell phone…Do you really need one if you work from home and have two phone lines already? If you limit your Starbuck’s intake, restaurant outings, cell phone use or whatever else you’re spending your money on, you would be surprised at how much disposable income you can spend on better clothes.

Now that you are inside the world of the affluent, dressing like one will be a breeze. You know what to buy, how to save and most importantly, having that upbeat personality that will set you apart and make you stand out. Now that’s dressing richly.

Fashion: styles that conceal big thighs

Want to invest in some items that will help to conceal your thighs? Here are some clothing items and tips you may have to look into.

About one woman in a million has those type of lean thighs that do not touch. For the rest of us, our thighs are very close friends. One of the most difficult areas to conceal or disguise is the thigh area since they are right there for everyone to see and there are two of them conspiring together to make us feel bad about the lower half of our bodies. Fortunately, there are ways to minimize the appearance of larger thighs through the right fashion choices.

* One major problem women with larger thighs have to face is the difference in the size of the thighs versus the waist. When a woman has larger thighs, her waist is usually smaller, making it quite difficult to find clothes that fit correctly. If we buy pants or jeans that fit our waist, our thighs look like two sausages about to explode out of the casings. The best thing to do is to buy pant and jeans that are one size larger. Sure the waist may be a wee bit bigger, but at least your thighs will have breathing room. Wearing jeans or slacks that are too tight on the thighs only draws more attention to that area, which is exactly what we want to avoid.

* In order to draw attention away from larger thighs, pair a dark colored bottom with a brighter top. The brightness of the shirt or blouse will maintain the focus on the upper part of your body, making you less self-conscious about people focusing on your thighs.

* To maintain the natural flow of the leg, steer clear of jeans or slacks that taper at the ankle. This fashion style will accentuate smaller calves and ankles, giving the illusion that the thigh area is actually bigger than it really is. Instead, choose jeans or slacks that have a wide or flared leg. This will serve to lengthen your legs and make your thighs appear narrower.

* When searching for slacks to wear at the office, opt for pinstriped pants. Pinstriped pants have thin vertical lines running from the top of the pant all the way down to the ankles. These lines will serve to lengthen your entire leg, making your thighs appear narrow. The great thing about pinstripe pants or slacks is that they are classic and never go out of fashion.

* While some fashion experts may dismiss the following idea, others feel it creates a natural flow throughout the body, creating an overall slimming effect. The idea is to use one color for both your blouse/shirt and your pants. By dressing up in one solid color, the eye sees the figure as one long shape, giving the illusion of a sleeker body, including the thigh area.

* Skirts are fantastic ways to disguise larger thighs. Sure, you don’t want to immediately reach to grab your jean mini-skirt, but if you play your cards right, skirts can definitely work for your body shape. Invest in a long and flowing skirt. This will conceal the thigh area. You can also purchase an A-line skirt to give your bottom half the illusion of being sleeker than it is.

Fashion: styles that help breasts appear larger

Have a small bust that you want to make appear larger with clothes? Here are some fashion tips on enhancing your bust.

You may feel that your breasts are not up to par. Sure, magazines may feature models with voluminous-looking breasts and deep cleavage. The reality is that many models often have small breasts and simply wear certain clothes and choose particular styles that help their bust appear larger than it actually is. If you want to do everything in your power to make your breasts appear larger, short of taking bust-enhancing “miracle” pills and having surgery done, then be sure to use the following tips and choose the following styles.

* There is no shame in adding a little extra faux padding to the bust. Invest in a good quality padded or push up bra. A padded bra has a small padded insert in the cup that adds a little extra volume to the bust. A push up bra has an underwire that helps to lift the breasts and push them together, in effect, creating cleavage. For a more natural look, stick with a bra that adds only minimal padding. Remember, a little goes a long way.

* To enhance your bust, stock your closet with v-neck shirts and sweaters. A neckline that slightly plummets creates the illusion of cleavage by putting the focal point in the middle of your chest.

* Wear shirts and blouses that have a small or decorative print in the middle. For example, summertime is the perfect time to invest in those vintage-looking baby tee cotton shirts that have a small logo emblazoned across the chest. These types of shirts work great to give a small chest more depth. For a dressier look, choose blouses that have decorative appliqués on the chest area. When going to the office, blouses that have pockets also work to enhance the bust.

* To help maximize small breasts, wear bottoms like skirts and pants that are dark-colored. When you pair them with tops that are bright and colorful (or simply white), the look helps to make your bust appear larger.

* If at all possible, tuck in your shirts and blouses. While it may be tempting to keep your tops loose or untucked, this will make your body appear frumpy. An untucked shirt elongates the body and hides a woman’s natural curves, so go ahead and start tucking. Tucking also makes the waist appear narrower, which will make the chest appear more voluminous.

* Pick a top that has ruffles or decorative accents. This will help pull the focus towards the chest area which will appear bustier with stylish ruffles. Peasant tops are perfect shirts for enhancing the bust.

* Jeans that have a slight flare will cause the waist to appear narrower which, in turn, will maximize the bust.

Many women with a small bust try their best to downplay this part of their body. They will wear dark shirts or large frumpy sweaters to cover up their top. However, as you may have noticed, the key to making a bust appear larger than it actually is is to actually make the chest area the center of attention. You will be amazed at what bright colors and the right tops will do to give the illusion of a larger bust.

Fashion tips: dressing up basic black clothing

To keep your black clothes looking more chic and less like a uniform takes a little work. With a few cheerful accessories and spectacular shoes, you'll look great.

Your basic black clothing doesn’t have to be boring. There are so many great things about black clothing. It’s slimming for one and elegant for another. Is simple to pull together and can be worn for day or night.

For some women black clothes save them for special events, those long mornings standing in front of the closet deciding what to wear and from the battle of the bulge. To keep your black clothes looking more chic and less like a uniform takes a little work. With the right look, a few good colorful and cheerful accessories and spectacular shoes, your basic black is not basic at all. Here are many ways to dress up your black clothing.

For Work

Looking professional for work in all black clothing is simple. To dress up a basic black suit, opt for a colorful shirt in hues such as blue, green, reds or yellows. Carry a tote that has a strong shape, which guarantees professionalism and functionality. Try a fabulous shoe in a metallic tone such as gold or silver. Spice up this basic work ensemble with bold jewelry such as dangly earrings, a bold bangle or ring.

For Day

The perfect black ensemble for day is the perfect button down shirt and Capri style or long black pants. It’s sophisticated and easy to pull together. To dress up this look for day, go for interesting accessories in bold shapes and intriguing colors. Try a beautiful colorful coat in yellow or red to give the outfit an extra punch.

For Night

Dress up that little black sheath dress a la Jackie O. style. Throw on gobs of pearls, dressy shoes any fashion diva would die for and create a beautiful smoky eye and a darker lipstick for night.

For a Gala Occasion

If wearing a long black gown for a gala event, keep all eyes on the gown by keeping hair, jewelry and accessories very simple. To dress up the look for high-impact glamour, try a faux fur stole.

There are several essential black pieces that every wardrobe should have. Here’s the list of must-haves:

The Black Blazer: You can pair this with just about anything from jeans, to dress pants to trousers. It gives your look instant polish.

The Little Black Dress: This can take you from day to evening events. And, when dressed up right it can look incredibly sophisticated (think Audrey Hepburn).

The Long Black Dress: This is perfect for that just-around-the-corner gala event that you just haven’t planned for.

The Black Trouser: Goes with everything and is every woman’s must-have, whether you need them for work or special events. Pair with your black blazer or colorful shirts.

The Jewelry: For each look try different jewelry. This will change the look of your basic black clothes. One day, try pearls and for the next do necklaces with semi-precious stones. Go ethnic by wearing a beautiful Indian necklace or something from another culture that will sure get lots of attention.

The Shoes: Go for special shoes with character. Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade or Guess is perfect examples of shoes with pizzazz. Note: Budget minded babes: watch for sales, which can be spectacular from these designer giants. You won’t break the bank and you’ll look incredible. When dressing up your basic black, remember to be unique and go for a look that fits you. And, that makes for incredible dressing – basic black or not.

Fashion tips: reinvent your wardrobe

Changing and updating your wardrobe can be a new way to reinvent your life and reflect your true personality. Here are some tips and guidelines to use when changing your clothing style.

Reinventing your wardrobe can be a new way to reinvent your life. Your clothes represent a large part of your lifestyle, not to mention your personality. There are even people that let their clothes mask their true personality, since they get caught up in the everyday normality of life including work and raising children. When this happens it’s time to reinvent yourself. With these tips, you’ll be a new you in no time.

1. The first thing to do is to take a good look at your lifestyle. Are you’re a 9-5er, working in a corporate setting where looking professional is a must? Or are you in a creative field where dressing more funky is acceptable? What areas of the world do you life in…one that has seasons or one that’s warm all year round? What are your outdoor activities? All these questions are great to ask in the first stages of reinvention.

2. Clean out the clutter, meaning clean out that closet and drawer space. You’ll need to get rid of anything that doesn’t fit you or your lifestyle and make room for new clothes.

3. Think who you want to be. What type of person do you want to portray. When you come up with this, you can make a list of must-haves for your lifestyle.

4. Go shopping. Remember, life is full of fun things besides work. So often, we buy clothes only for work and forget about our other lives. But, buying for your “going out or recreational” lifestyle will help you define who you really are as far as clothes are concerned.

5. Don’t be afraid to try new looks that you have always wanted to try. Get inspiration from magazines, movies and people on the street to emulate (not copy) their look. Put your own twist of creativity into the look.

6. Reinventing your wardrobe doesn’t mean buying an entire closet full of clothes all at one time. You can build your new wardrobe slowly. This will ensure that you really like your new look and it’s truly “you”, not a trend that will surpass.

Some Looks to Try

There are so many looks out there. Here are a few ideas for you to get started. And, remember mixing and matching styles will make you even more unique.

Vintage – this is a great look especially for those who are history buffs; think Kate Moss or Siena Miller. These Londoners really have this look pulled together. Tip: Scour thrift stores in your town and pick up anything vintage from handbags to shoes, to clothes.

Boho Chic- this look brings thoughts of Kate Hudson and is great for an effervescent personality. Hippie chic can be a fun way to pull outfits together that looks effortless.

Fashion do's and don'ts - plus-size women

Plus-size women want to dress attractively and in style. Even as Americans are getting larger, however, women’s fashions seem to be getting skimpier. Here are some good do’s and don’ts for the plus-size woman who wants to look her best.

Adequate sizing. Women should get the size they wear. Clothes that are too large make a woman look like a bag lady. Too-small fashions are hideous. Buy the appropriate size and ask a sales associate to help.

Ditch the muumuus and house dresses, unless it is a lazy Saturday morning at home. Few garments make a plus-size woman look more pathetic than a house dress. This is reminiscent of those women in comedy skits with pink sponge curlers in their hair, and teeth missing. If a plus-size woman wants to wear a dress, make sure it has some shape to it. “Floats,” “trapeze dresses” and “free-and-easy styling” are all synonyms for one thing: a muumuu. Leave them strictly alone. Look for dresses with princess seams down the front, dropped waists, and other styles with shape. Stay away from anything that looks like a tent with flowers.

Pay close attention to the length of tops. Some fashionistas say it is perfectly all right for a plus-size woman to wear those curvy, shaped blouses that barely skim the navel. This is a personal call, and the woman should be aware of what those kinds of blouses reveal. It depends on whether the woman has a large behind or low-hanging abdomen. If so, she should probably stay away from that kind of blouse. Women who are plus-size, but mostly curvy can get away with this kind of fashion.

As a rule, plus-size women should look for tops that hit at least the midline of their navels. Layered looks are good, with blousy shirts over tank tops, as long as the line is smooth, front and back. This is an effective camouflage for big buns without that tent look.

V-necks and other low-cut tops: ditch or keep? Try on the top and look in the mirror. A v-neck can be very flattering on a plus-size woman because it lengthens the neck line and draws the eye down. However, any neckline that shows overflowing cleavage is not flattering. A plus-size woman with an average bust can usually get away with slightly lower-cut tops than a woman who is very well-endowed. These women can wear v-necks and so forth, but should be cautious about how much of their charms they show.

Women should strive to balance jeans and T-shirts. Few things look worse than a big woman in a pair jeans that are skintight across a big rear end, wearing a T-shirt that is too short. It makes her rear look even bigger.

Jackets are tricky for plus-size women. So much depends on how the woman’s body is made. Some women are pear-shaped, some are apple-shaped, some have hourglass figures. Taller women with longer legs can usually get away with short jackets, especially if they do not have large rear ends. Women who are short or average height may be able to wear short jackets if they are fairly well-proportioned, bottom and top. Too large on either end, and a short jacket should be avoided. A good bet for most women is a blazer-style jacket that covers the abdomen and rear end. It can be boxy or tailored, depending on the woman’s preferences, body shape and current fashion.

With tops out of the way, what about bottoms? Most plus-size women can wear A-line skirts in flowing fabrics. Tailored or straight skirts are a little more problematic. Again, body style determines everything. Women who are larger on top than bottom may be able to wear a straight skirt with a tailored jacket very well. Women with large hips should look carefully at the skirt’s construction and should try it on in the store. It should fit adequately and should not pull or strain at the seams, especially through the widest part of the hip line and the pocket. Plus-size women can wear shorter skirts, but should again be careful to keep clothing proportioned.

Plus-size women can wear wide-legged pants if the fabric flows and drapes nicely. They should stay away from jeans that are tight in the rear and through the thighs and have wide legs. They are unattractive on average-size women, let alone plus-sized ones. Leave them for the size four teenybopper set. Jeans can even have a sleeker fit, provided they do not outline rolls and bulges. Some jeans have 5 percent spandex in the material blend and this can be very helpful in fitting.

Tapered legs probably are some of the most flattering pants a plus-size woman can wear. As long as they keep drawing the eye down, without it stopping right at the hipline, tapered-leg pants are good for most women, and can be found in jeans, tailored twill pants or knit pants.

Proportion is the key for plus-sized women. They should strive to create a pleasant line in their clothes, one that plays up their assets and camouflages flaws. Sales associates in plus-size stores are usually sensitive to these issues, and their advice and opinions should be sought if a woman is in doubt about how something looks on her. It is possible for a plus-size woman to dress attractively.

Fashion tips: how to keep warm, but look hot in winter this season

Whether you live in truly cold weather in Chicago’s windy city or slightly chilly nights in California, keeping warm and looking hot is something women coast to coast want to capture, no matter where they live. Learn how to dress in layers so you’re ready for anything, vamp up the makeup and keep warm and look…well, hot, despite cool temperatures.

Layer Clothing

First, you need to learn the art of layering your clothing so you’re ready for any kind of event life throws your way. Remember, skin is in all year round, even when the weather doesn’t seem to permit. You can fix this problem by doing several thin fashionable layers. Your final layer should be a cool, trendy coat. If you’re a little demure, go for a black coat with a faux fur collar to add a little excitement.

Touchable Fabrics

You want that touch-me kind of fabric, which is the basic rule of looking hot and keeping warm. Anything that feels good to touch (such as cashmere or velvet) should fill your closet during winter months. They will make you feel great and look amazing too. Don’t be afraid to show cleavage in these fabrics or to show a little skin.

Just Add Color

When I think of “hot” colors – I think black and red. Wearing head to toe red would even look amazing. Instead of the little black dress, go for the little red dress – even in winter (just make sure your coat is warm, yet hot). This change of pace will make you look sultry, even if it’s not so hot outdoors.

Get Some Color

A tan would make the winter blues run for the door in an instant. If you can’t getaway on holiday (a.k.a. vacation), why not get the best self tanner you can find and fake it. These days, tanners are made with the best possible ingredients making you have that golden brown tan (not a dreadful orange hue). Fashion tip: Put your tan to work with a winter white sweater and you’ll have the stay warm, look hot motto down.

Sexy Makeup

Without sultry makeup, what would most women do during the coldest of seasons? Good question. To keep looking hot, without breaking the bank with a wardrobe full of new clothes, you must master the smoky eyes with liner, full lashes and gray shadows. This look will make you look hot no matter what.

Stunning accessories

If you’re used to always wearing black, as many of us do. Throw on a colorful sexy handbag. Why not try it in a sexy fabric like purple or green velvet. Earrings should be long and dangle to mid-neck. Anything you can do to draw attention to the face is a must, since you’re all covered up everywhere else. If you’re showing more skin, try a gorgeous delicate necklace strategically placed to draw attention to your collarbones. Gold jewelry always looks stunning with skin.

With these tips, you will nail down the philosophy of looking hot, while keeping warm. Just remember to be yourself, only sexier. Not only will it be easier to get through those cold months, but also you’ll find that you try harder to look better all year round. And, nothing beats that.

Upgrade Your Wardrobe to Must - Haves of 2007

The seven most important things for the New Year: high-waisted pants, slim-fit jeans, an oversized bag, platform shoes, a tunic top, a shrunken trench, and a sheath dress; black makes it really easy, this will help you upgrade your wardrobe.

That doesn't necessarily mean you can't keep pieces you already own; think about what you have. If you hem and belt the great trench in your closet, that takes the look from last season to this season! You might be able to work with what you have, depending on what you bought this fall/winter.

Look 1

A trench coat is one of the easiest runway looks to translate to real life. This look is a trench coat inspired by Louis Vuitton and the trench coat is pretty and feminine for 2007. Paired with a billowy scarf and the perfect platform shoe with patent detail, it's effortlessly chic. We belted it with a belt from Zara, and we paired it with platform Steve Madden shoes. That's what makes it look modern right now, and it's that easy. The trench is by St. John. We've been seeing platforms now for a few seasons, but they're not going away; in fact, they're getting higher.

Look 2

Thank goodness the high-rise pant is coming back — no more plumber impersonations! This look cionsists of wide-legged pants from Zara, and they're high-waisted. The emphasis is on the waist instead of the hip bone, and these pants actually make you look slimmer by emphasizing your waist, the smallest part of your midsection, as opposed to your hips. This is not a look for everyone; you don't want to go for this look if you're short-waisted, but it's fantastic for women with long or normal torsos, because if your torso is too small, the pants threaten to overwhelm your upper body. The pants are paired with a 3/4 sleeve cardigan by J Crew, mixed with a chain necklace. This makes it one of the best work looks for 2007. It's an easy alternative look to a jacket, and the perfect everyday look in which you appear completely pulled-together. The necklace is really one of the keys here: Add one extra accessory — one extra element, such as a great belt or huge pair of earrings, that doesn't belong there or is unexpected. That's what will finish off your look for this season.

Look 3

This season, there's a new shape entering the world of the little black dress. This look has a little black dress by Alisha Levine. It's kind of boxy, so you can get away with a lot, plus it looks like a vintage Pierre Cardin dress, with an oversized gold zipper in back, which gives a touch of edginess to an otherwise classic piece. You can wear it to the office, then throw on an accessory and it can also work at an office party — from the office to your office party in one second flat!. It has 3/4 length sleeves. You can change your necklace to go from day to evening.

Look 4

Skinny jeans are staying around for awhile — they're still in and still happening. The ones shown are by Joe's Jeans. It is a perfect weekend look. We pair them with flats, a little sweater, and an oversized bag. The bag is a big cable-knit bag from Club Monaco. Not only will this purse fit just about everything you could dream of putting in it, but the larger-than-life quality of the bag will make your thighs look smaller — that's the best part about the big bag! That's why big people shouldn't carry little bags, because it makes them look bigger.

Look 5

If you went a little crazy this holiday season, no need to fear. The outfit in Look 5 hides a multitude of sins. It's the ultimate flattering look: a cropped jacket with a billowing tunic underneath, which hides your stomach, and straight-legged pants from Club Monaco. Plus, a great headband. The little jacket makes you look tall, but you can wear it with a billowy top to hide your stomach. This look is definitely all about playing with proportions and layering for an updated and seriously stylish look.

Shoe Trends - Winter 2007

The latest fashion look in footwear is stylish cone heels. Ladies fashion shoes have wooden heels, leopard print or use reptilian look materials.

Ballerina Flat Shoe

This season have your eyes on T-bar shoes, ankle strap shoes and designer boots in Lurex python skins.

Ballerina flats with round toes in all types of materials including animal, gold, metallics and velvets are winter winners. Animal prints abound in fashion accessories. The ballerina flats are made in several animal prints of varying scales and impressed leathers as well as golden tones. You can easily imagine skipping around town wearing these easy flats and shopping until you drop.

Women's Fashion Boots

This winter my preference though is for laced up shoes or bootie shoes. These shoes will tone well with all those gold clothes you add to your wardrobe. Many women's fashion boots have extra straps which have either biker or equestrian associations.

Fur Fashion Boots

Fur fashion boots, don't they just look warm, comfortable and fun to wear.

No-shows are marketing man's answer to capture lost sales of tights in summer.

These fashion accessories are also useful too. They consist of foot tubes or cases that cover just the toes, foot sole and heels or are simply no more than a foot band, a toe band or an ankle band.

No-shows the latest way to keep comfortable without tights.

In the past we might have thought them a variation of trouser socks, but they are not true socks as they don't even totally cover the foot. The intention is that there is no show. The reason that some women still wear tights in summer, even on hot days, is to protect their feet with a fine layer between shoe and foot. Many have thought the heat discomfort worth it to not have raw rubbed feet.

These no-show items are meant to be worn with sandals and other summer footwear to prevent chafing and blisters in hot weather. No-shows are the new answer to uncomfortably hot tights.

Fashion Trends Predictions - 2007

Predictions for 2007 are based on the fact that really ugly, tacky trends from the 80s resurfaced this past year. Therefore this coming year's trends will be from the late 80s and will be trends that were less than gorgeous the first time around.

1st Prediction: Hyper Color Will Resurface
Remember those shirts that would change color when people would touch them or when body heat went up? The technology that made that happen will resurface in the fashion world. Only doubt the shirts might come back. The shirts were too much of a passing fad, but the concept "something changing based on heat" kinda cool. Someone might come out with hyper color purses, hyper color watches, or some other hyper color accessory.

2nd Prediction: Neon Clothing Will Make a Comeback
Thinking of the 80s without remembering neon clothing, NO NO NO. Think back to your favorite episode of Saved by the Bell or The Fresh Prince of Bell Air. Notice a trend of brightly colored items? they will come back. Bright pink, neon yellow and florescent orange will come back someday. If it is not in 2007, look for it soon thereafter.

Don't imagine that the neon colors will be as prevalent as before. We are actually safe from fluorescent pants and shirts. But, the colors will come back as bright accents, perhaps as a snippet of color on a pair of swim trunks or as shoe laces.

3rd Prediction: Everyone Will Try to Wear Biker Shorts Again
Face it, spandex has not been to nice to us. It is hideous and looks bad on 90% of the population. However, it was hot once before and it will reappear again. In case you do not know what biker shorts are, they are the skin tight, spandex shorts that bike riders wear. The stuff does not leave anything to the imagination and will hug anything that is not smooth.

Currently leggings are supposed to be trendy. Several people that love them. It is only a matter of time before leggings under skirts and dresses switch to biker shorts under these garments. Just think how gorgeous (yuck) that will look considering we as a society have gotten fatter since they were cool the first time around. Let's hear a cheer for visible panty-lines and cottage cheese butts.

4th Prediction: Bibs, Overalls or Whatever You Want to Call Them Will Return
It is about that time for everyone to look like they just got done painting. They will be resurrected. They will be the shorts version or the long pants version can't predict, but it is safe to say that people will start wearing bottoms with straps that hook over the shoulders.

Maybe if people get crazy with it they will start wearing one strap up and one strap down. For a more country look, people can wear both straps hooked. There are just so many options when it comes to tacky bottoms.

5th Prediction: Scrunch Socks Will be Hot
They are the socks that you can scrunch down and they peak out from the skinny (tapered) legged jeans. The socks came in bright colors and were often layered to create a more dramatic look. Everyone seems to be craving accessories lately. Why not turn to brightly colored socks that are meant to be seen? It seems logical to me.
